Let me give you a very comprehensive feedback: 1. The service staff here - Gautam and Rajesh are absolutely amazing. They are warm, hospitable, and very accommodating. Gautam is an excellent chef as well, and they were available throughout for whatever we needed 2. Now let's talk about the pitfalls of the place - the place needs upgradation and there is a lack of general maintenance - not from a service perspective as the place is clean but overall wear and tear 3. Saffron stays mentions nature walks, and trip to tansa dam included. That is hogwash. There is no nature walk here - just a short walk through the small farm area here. Tansa dam trip you have to undertake yourself 4. The place is also a little out of the way and you need additional help from the house staff to get here. They are once again very accommodating though 5. There is also a cow that seems tied up throughout the day and night in one of the sheds. Needs to be taken out for walks and dealt with in a more humane way. Just an additional feedback for the owner. All in all, excellent service and hospitality. But the place left me wanting more for the money I paid for it - needs to be upgraded if we are being charged what we are.

Need to work on the pathway for the saty... as the roads are very bad in condition and in case of emergencies it becomes difficult with bad roads and no street lights .... Overall the stay is very good....

The property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful, surrounded by nature. It really felt like a perfect escape from the city. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and had such a unique charm, something I have not seen even in many 5 star hotels. Everything was very well maintained too. We chose to have all our meals on the property and the food was genuinely delicious. Chef Gautam and Rajesh were so warm and accommodating, and the chef made some truly amazing dishes for us. And the early morning tea was just heavenly. Overall, we had such a lovely experience. Highly recommend!

I spent two nights at Maativan. Wada is just a few hours from Mumbai, and the journey is equally simple whether you choose private transport or public transport. I took a train to Atgaon, followed by local transport to Jambhul Pada, and then a short 10-minute walk to the property. The property is beautifully maintained, thoughtfully designed, and managed by an efficient team. Gautam and Rajesh, who handled both the property and the cooking, were incredibly helpful from the start and ensured all my needs were met. The food was delicious, plentiful, and served right on time. Their warmth and hospitality made the stay even more memorable. Each room feels like its own little pocket of the jungle, creating a peaceful and secluded experience — perfect for anyone looking to escape the chaos of the city. My Non-AC room had only a net separating the outdoors from the indoors, which gave it an almost outdoor-living feel. This also means sharing your space with insects, mosquitoes, and occasional jungle visitors (a macchardani is provided). The individual outdoor bathtub with a steady hot water supply became my favourite spot. The common areas offer plenty of games, activities, and spaces to relax. The swimming pool looked clean and inviting. The property overall is lush, green, and very well maintained. The caretakers also arrange a small nature walk, which I highly recommend. It takes you through dense forest, into paddy fields, and ends at a serene stream — a beautiful highlight of the stay. Overall: I would highly recommend Maativan for a quiet getaway, but there are a few areas that could be improved. Cons: • SaffronStays did not inform me that I would have a Non-AC room, and the tariff appears to be the same for all rooms. A little heads-up or a price adjustment would have been appreciated. • Despite the macchardani, a mouse entered my bed on the first night — a scary experience. The circular bed also makes it hard for the rectangular macchardani to fit securely, so a better design for sealing the bed area would help. • The bathroom flush did not work properly. The caretaker kindly offered to assist, but this wasn’t a practical solution for every use. Additionally, the pot tended to overflow, which made the bathroom experience uncomfortable.

Gautam and Rajesh are a very good team. Super friendly and always happy to help. We had a great time being here and they made sure we were comfortable.

The resort is beautiful but yes too many insects but cant help as its in the midst of a forest. The beds as well as the pillow cases were not clean. A/C was giving so much problem had trouble sleeping. WI FI not strong enough in the bedroom. The food yes was exceptionally yummy. Savior of this place was the cook Gautam and assistant Ramesh. They were polite and very helpful.

Before describing the beauty of the place I would 1st like to mention the amazing people who takes care of this place. The extremely polite and splendid cook Gautam, his two ready to help and wonderful support systems Narayan and Rajesh and lastly Kalpesh who took care of us right from the day that we made the booking till we leave. These excellent blend of people will make your stay very comfortable and relaxing and you will enjoy all this with delicious meals cooked by Gautam. The architecture of this adobe is a unique design which makes you feel close to nature. Surrounded by lovely fauna and flora you will find this place a perfect getaway from the busy city life. But sadly this place was not for us as we had elders with us. I would also like to request the owners to figure out the swimming pool issue coz even though it was informed to us that the pool is clean due to its walls texture it felt not that clean. Despite a few minor drawbacks, this place is a true delight for people who enjoy immersing themselves in nature.

Everything was perfect! The stay is really asthetic and every corner is beautiful. The environment is really quite. We were lucky enough to spot stars. The food is top notch and Gautam along with his team is super helpful. However, there were a few misses/issues - 1) We faced issue with the hot water and didn't get it throughout the stay. 2) I had requested individual meal pricing from Kalpesh (Saffronstay representative) beforehand and he said ?650 for dinner/per person. Initially I booked 2 day dinner and 1 breakfast but later changed my mind to just have 1 dinner. I expected my meals to be priced at ?650 as mentioned earlier but I was surprised to see a bill of ?800 per dinner/per person. The reason cited by Kalpesh was it's not 'PROFITABLE' for saffronstay to provide 1 meal and they were making a loss since i cancelled my other meals. I was forced to add another breakfast to justify what I was asked to pay. Overall the pricing for the meals is really deceptive and make sure you have a clear communication beforehand to avoid any suprises. 3)We took the open concept room and had to face the problem of insects and even mice which made sleeping in that room difficult but the property staff helped us with whatever they could. 4)No wifi in the room, only in common areas. Overall, it's a good property to relax and unwind! The food is tasty and ground staff is really helpful!

We have had an amazing stay at Maativan. The food was delicious. Gautam, Rajesh and bunty, the staff is very very good. They go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Very cooperative and very good service. House is also very beautiful. Would love to come back soon. Just the hot water bit. In the open bathtub the hot water didn't really come but again that is not deal breaker.

Maativan is a very good calm place amidst lush greenery .the most amazing thing was our manager Gautam ,he is an excellent cook,the food was delicious and he is very courteous and cooperative.

The room is gorgeous and made in an eco friendly manner with bottles. Staff is accommodating and v sweet. There is nowhere else to go and eat around as it is pretty isolated. Thus the host has the food prices very high. The price could be justified if veg and non vegetarians pay a different amount but Vegetarians who get one dish lesser are made to pay the same amount as someone eating meat. When speaking to the person in charge on call they were rude, uncooperative and not responsive about this. It is in a remote location so getting food from out isn't possible or needed because the food is very very good. The cook is very sweet and makes delicious meals. However, veg and non veg meal prices MUST BE different. It isn't fair to expect us to pay for dead animals not even consumed or non vegetarians must have a higher charge for meals. Being in the same field as them I don't understand how saffron stays can justify the same price for both. Other than this everything was perfect.
