About the Home

Tucked into the rolling hills of Kotagiri, SaffronStays Verandah by the Nilgiris is a 3-bedroom home that brings together the warmth of a lived-in house with the quiet beauty of the Nilgiris. Perched at a gentle height, the home looks out towards the mountains, with sweeping views visible from every bedroom and balcony. The interiors are contemporary with subtle Indian influences, designed to feel homely, warm and unhurried. Custom-made teakwood furnishings, crafted in Kerala and adapted to the homeowner’s personal style, lend the home a timeless character. A sloping Mangalore-tiled roof adds to its mountain-home charm, while large windows bring in plenty of natural light.

All three bedrooms open onto private balconies, with two also enjoying individual lawns. Outside, expansive manicured lawns, a flower garden and an alfresco dining area create plenty of space to spend time together. A Zen garden, centred around a Buddha statue crafted in Mahabalipuram, offers a quieter corner to pause and take in the surroundings. With Catherine Falls close by and the Nilgiri hills unfolding around it, Verandah by the Nilgiris is a home for slow mornings, long conversations and time spent together in the hills.

• Upon entering the main gate, there is a dedicated parking area.

• Walking straight from the parking leads to the central Hall.

Hall & First Bedroom:

• On the right side of the Hall, there are 5 steps leading up to the First Bedroom.

• The First Bedroom has a sit-out area on its left side.

Kitchen & Dining Area:

• From the Hall, taking the steps to the right leads towards the kitchen area.

• Going straight down the steps, there is a combined space with Pantry, Kitchen, and Dining Area.

Other Bedrooms:

• On the right side of the kitchen area is the Second Bedroom.

• On the left side, 5 steps lead up to the Third Bedroom.

Given the increased need for safety, hygiene and sanitization required at the villa, and for the safety of our guests and staff we cannot allow any early check-ins or late check-outs. The check-in and check-out timings mentioned online and in your confirmation email need to be followed.

House Rules:

Outside food is not allowed in the villa.
Guests are not allowed to access the kitchen except for infants with prior permission.
Guests cannot invite other guests and day visitors during their stay.
Bachelor groups & stag parties are not allowed.
We do not encourage parties and late-night revelry. Loud music is not permitted beyond 10 pm.
Consumption of alcohol is permitted only within limits.
Illegal activities including but not limited to carrying/consuming drugs/narcotics and carrying firearms/weapons are prohibited on the property. Management reserves the right to report any such activities to local authorities.
Smoking within the villa/rooms is prohibited.
Guests are requested to take care of all personal valuables. Management is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to any items.
As required by law, every guest above 18 years must carry government-approved photo ID proof, that shows address. We accept only Aadhar Cards, Driving Licenses and Passports.
Inappropriate behaviour or violation of any of the above House Rules will invite a polite refusal to accept a Booking. If already checked in, Management reserves the right to ask guests to leave.
